Peregrine Dining Hall offers an allergen free station called Simple Servings. Simple Servings is free of the following allergens: sesame, gluten, wheat, milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts and shellfish. Daily hot entrées include a protein, vegetable and starch. Side dishes served at Simple Servings are vegan. The Simple Zone pantry, located in Peregrine Dining Hall, offers a space where students can access gluten, peanut and tree nut free options. The Simple Zone pantry is exclusively gluten, peanut and tree-nut free.

Being that peanut and tree nut allergies are very common and often the most severe among food allergies, the use of peanuts and tree nuts are avoided in campus dining. In Peregrine Dining Hall, sunflower butter is available as an alternative to peanut butter. Peanut butter is served exclusively in individual pre-sealed packages. Peanuts and tree nuts are not used in cooking; however baked goods may contain nuts at times and will be clearly labeled. Asking questions is always welcomed and encouraged!
The Simple Zone pantry, located in Peregrine Dining Hall, offers a space where students can access gluten free options. The Simple Zone pantry is exclusively gluten, peanut and tree-nut free. Simple Zone typically includes bread, bagels, English muffins, cereal, crackers and cookies. There is also a toaster, microwave and cutting board reserved exclusively for gluten free items. Gluten free pizza and pasta are available daily upon request. Although there is not separate gluten free kitchen, the dining staff has been trained in accommodating guests with food allergies and preventing cross contact.

Retail dining locations across campus offer gluten free menu options as well. The Roost at Ridgeview, SubConnection and Nester’s Grille in the Student Union Building offer gluten free bread for sandwiches. Element93 in Wooster hall offers gluten free bread, buns and wraps for sandwiches and burgers. Pomodoro’s makes gluten free pizza daily and gluten free pasta as an option on the menu.

Fortunately, many foods are naturally gluten free. Beyond the gluten free alternatives to gluten containing foods, a variety of options are available across campus. Element93 and Hissho Sushi (located in the Student Union Building) offer several unique gluten-free choices. In addition, gluten-free fresh salads, fruit, yogurt and snacks are available at retail dining locations across campus.
There are a variety of choices for both vegan and vegetarian diets across campus. Peregrine Dining Hall offers an exclusively vegan/vegetarian area called Veggin Out, where a hot entree is served daily for lunch and dinner. Vegan desserts and non-dairy milks are available as well. Veggie burgers are available daily upon request, a vegan soup is served daily, and vegan proteins like beans, tofu, and edamame are always available at the salad bar.
Special dietary needs will be accommodated upon request. Students and parents are encouraged to contact General Manager Michael Cavalieri at michael.cavalieri@sodexo.com.
